The objective of this project was to improve the ergonomics of the grocery carts.
This study was based in an ergonomic REBA and RULA tables and in the functional use in the real environment (the supermarket).

Results of the studies. Improvements to be made:
- Downsize sizes of the main basket
- Facilitate the loading and unloading of heavy products
- Improve driving the cart, change the direction ...
- Adapt the design to all users ergonomically
- Design it to help to organize the grocery
- Use more hygienic and less cold materials

El objetivo de este proyecto era mejorar la ergonomía de los carritos de supermercado.
Para ello se realizo un estudio ergonomico apoyado en las tablas REBA y RULA así como estudios de uso y funcionales en el entorno real, en supermercados.
Resultados de los estudios, mejoras a realizar
- Reducir tamaño de la cesta
- Facilitar la carga y descarga de objetos pesados
- Mejorar la conducción del carrito, el cambio de dirección...
- Adaptarlo ergonomicamente a todos los usuarios
- Diseño que ayude a organizar la compra
- Empleo de materiales menos frios y más higiénicos

OPTIONAL DIVIDER
The main basket could be divided by two plastic sheets. The user can divide the space in 3 smaller compartments to organize the food and also to keep the cold in the frozen products since they can be all together.
DIVISIORES OPCIONALES
La cesta principal puede sre dividida por dos placas de plástico. El usuario puede dividir la cesta en 3 espacios más pequeños para organizar la compra, así como para hacer más facil la conservación de los congelados al ponerlos todos juntos.
STACKING
The carts have a collapsible side that goes up to allow other grocery cart fit inside. In this way the supermarket can have several carts occupying less space.
ENCASTRABLE
Los carritos tienen un lado abatible que permite que otro carrito quepa dentro de este. Así se consigue que el supermercado tenga varios carritos ocupando menos espacio.
HANDLEBARS
The main handlebar has two different bars in two different heights in order to make possible that every people can hold it and drive it perfectly.
The covering of silicon provides a warmer feeling in the touch, more security for kids and also more hygiene.
The cart also has another handgrip in the front part that helps to a second person to direct the grocery cart.
MANILLARES
El manillar principal consta de dos alturas, diseñado para que personas de cualquier diemensiones puedan agarrarlo de manera ergonómica y dirigirlo perfectamente.
Además el recubrimiento de siliciona proporciona un tacto más calido, más seguridad para los niños y más higiene.
Además también tiene un agarre delantero para que una segunda persona pueda ayudar a dirigir el carro.
SLIDING LATERAL
One of the sides (laterals) is sliding. This is specially designed to empty the grocery cart and put all the bags in the trunk of your car or in the conveyor belt.
LATERAL DESLIZABLE
Uno de los lados es deslizable. Esto esta diseñado especialmente para vaciar la compra dentro del maletero o en la cinta transportadora.
The meassures has been designed following the ergonomic rules. The heights are comfortable for all the percentiles. From the bigest one (blue), 95% man, to the smallest one (pink) 5% woman.
Las medidas han sido diseñadas siguiendo las reglas ergonómicas. Las alturas hacen el carrito totalmente confortable para todos los percentiles. Desde el mas grande (azul) 95% hombre, hasta el más pequeño (rosa) 5% mujer.
In the picture below appear all the measures that makes the cart perfectly ergonomic and that also fits with any product of the grocery.
En la imagen siguiente, aparecen todas las medidas que hacen el carrito perfectamente ergonómico y que además permiten que cualquiera de los productos del supermercado quepa en su interior.
